Parkside Players Profiles

Tom joined Parkside in July 2005. Since that time he has become a respected member of the group both on and off the stage. He is highly regarded for his abilities as a comic actor but his performance in The Crucible as Reverend Hale demonstrates his adaptability and talent in all forms of theatre. This will be Tom’s second year performing at the Felixstowe drama festival. Last year he received high praise from the adjudicator and audience alike and since joining Parkside his performances have gone from strength to strength. We very much hope that Tom will remain a Parkside Player for many years to come.

Tom has recently finished filming his part as a barman in a new brit flick gangster movie "The Grind" http://www.thegrindmovie.com/

Tom on himself

My first experience of drama and acting was in primary school performing comic roles in the annual Christmas pantomimes, which I immediately enjoyed. I then moved onto secondary school and appeared in numerous productions whilst studying Drama to GCSE level.

Following Secondary School I went onto to study a BTEC National Diploma in Performing arts at college for which I received a triple distinction.

As well as stage acting I have also appeared in several films. I was an extra in, ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’ and more recently I had a role in a British gangster film, ‘The Grind’.

Whilst at college I joined Parkside Players and since that time I have performed in various productions including, ‘The Elephant Man’ (my first Parkside experience!), ‘Jane Eyre’ and Alan Bennett’s comical farce, ‘Habeas Corpus’. I have also appeared in the last two Parkside Pantomimes.

Since joining Parkside my whole family have become part of the Parkside family. My dad and sister regularly help out on set build days and back stage and my mum has helped with costumes.

In this years prodution of The Crucible, I performed the role of Reverend John Hale. It was my biggest role to date and has proved a great challenge for me, but I have loved every minute of it! I really enjoy performing with my friends at Parkside and I look forward to being a part of the team for many more productions to come.
