Parkside Players Profiles

Alec joined Parkside in July 2007. Since that time he has become a respected member of the group both on and off the stage. Last year at Felixstowe, Alec performed the role of Lieutenant Hibbert and received high praise from the adjudicator. Since joining Parkside his performances have gone from strength to strength.

Drama had always been one of my favorite subjects throughout school and was involved in a few plays during primary and secondary education. However it was during a secondary school production of William Shakespeare‘s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ at the Kenneth Moore Theatre as part of the Shakespeare Schools Festival that I really began to develop a taste for the stage. As a result of this, I decided to study Drama and Theatre Studies for GCSE and A-Level, causing me to be part of various devised performances. During this time I decided to become a member of the Parkside Players as means of gaining more stage experience in full length productions outside school.

Since joining Parkside, I have been a part of several productions such as both the previous Christmas Pantomime’s, R.C. Sheriff’s ‘Journey’s End’ and obviously, ‘Wait Until Dark’. Being apart of the Players, has given me a great opportunity to build on my knowledge both on and off stage, work with experienced actors as well as the chance to simply meet new people and make new friends in the process.

I am now continuing to study Drama for a single honours degree at Queen Mary, University of London, I hope to one day be involved in the Theatre industry on a professional level as a performer. Outside the theatre, my hobbies included playing Guitar, drawing and sketching, practicing Karate as well as socialising with my friends
